Today was the second fit test in the INSANITY program. I think I did better on each of the exercises, but I also think I counted incorrectly on a few of the moves during the first fit test. It is the only way I can explain doing significantly worse on the Globe Jumps (which is a 4-count move) and Suicide Jumps (maybe I wasn’t doing the stand and jump for these the first time?):Switch Kicks: 61 (+33)Power Jacks: 47 (+15)Power Knees: 70 (+14)Power Jumps: 39 (+19)Globe Jumps: 12 (-18 I don’t think I was counting by 4-count the first time)Suicide Jumps: 17 (-10)Push Up Jacks: 23 (+7)Low Plank Oblique: 50 (+26)Overall, lots of improvement. I’m very impressed at the progress for just 2 weeks, so far.

After the fit test I managed to fit in a short run around the neighborhood. There was a serious debate going on in my head about whether it was going to be worth running for just 30min, but it is better than not doing it at all, right? I’ve turned into a long distance snob. Just because a run doesn’t take longer than an hour to finish, doesn’t mean it isn’t worth doing.

I even got a little walk in at work over lunch. A few of us walked up to the market for food. The weather was superb.

Did Zuzanna’s ZWOW #14 last night with 12# dumbbells. It was a good was to recover from an entire day of siting behind my desk.

This morning I got in INSANITY Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs, along with a 30min run. Admittedly, my legs are very tired right now.

So today was the first time I was able to take my real bike out for my morning workout. The ice is gone, and even though it feels very warm, I forgot that 36(f) on a bike feels much colder - especially going downhill. OMG my toes got chilly - and by chilly, I mean numb.
Today’s lesson is that spinning is much different than biking outdoors. Standing climbs on a spin bike are NOT the same as climbing a steep hill on a mountain bike. My glutes were on fire!
I also got in the Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance workout in before the ride, which may have also contributed to the burn.

A perfect morning for a run. 32 degrees and clear. I took a detour up to the ski trails to see if they are clear of snow yet, but they are still covered. It may be a week or even more before they are clear enough to run.
Afterward, I popped in the Insanity Plyometric Cardio workout, then finished with some core work:

Russian (Knee) Tuck Twists
The Russian Tuck Twist is similar to a Russian Twist, only that one leg is extended and the other leg is bent bringing the knee toward the chest.
